Development of Lightning Location System Based on Power Information Network

The paper introduces the necessity of establishing Lightning Location System(LLS) and its principles and development.Former LLS can't meet the demand of lightning data application because of its inherent defects.The LLS based on power information network employs intranet as transmission mode of lightning signals,instead of microwave and transmission lines.The new system is based on GIS platform,and shares data and resources with other systems.Web mode enhances the usability of system functions greatly and realizes the maximized application of lightning data.
