A Novel Coding Scheme Based on Wavelet Transform and Visibility Factors for Still Images

A novel coding algorithm was presented for still image using biorthogonal wavelet transform.Combined with the visibility preaccentuation before the quantization,a new data structure named extended Q_tree was proposed to organize wavelet transformation coefficients.Experimental results show that the new algorithm is very practical and with good performance.
