Fast Intra Mode Decision Algorithm for Transcoding from H.264 to AVS

The prediction directions and the number of non-zero coefficients obtained from the H.264 decoder are used to estimate the prediction directions in AVS encoder to save the time used for AVS intra prediction.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is able to maintain a good picture quality while reducing at least 56% of computation.
