The atomic dipole amplitude-squared squeezing effects of a Ξ-type three-level atom interacting with two-mode entangled coherent states are investigated. The effects of the degree of entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent states, the ground state probability amplitude of the atomic initial state, the detuning, the mean photon number and the atom-field coupling constant on the atomic dipole amplitude-squared squeezing are analyzed. The results indicate that the light squeezing effects depend on the degree of entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent optical fields, the detuning, the mean photon numbers, the atom-field coupling constant and the atomic initial state.
