Analysis on next generation networks signaling traffic

Signaling traffic in NGN is considered to be self-similar in general. However, no concrete experiments on this have been done up to date. This paper analyzes this characteristic and compares this characteristic with other networks. Moreover, the multi-fractal property of the signaling traffic in NGN is verified by simulating and analyzing. Finally, some effects of the self-similar traffic on NGN are analyzed.
