CORDIC-Based Direct Digital Frequency Synthesizer

In conventional DDS architecture, mapping from phase codes to amplitude codes is implemented through addressing ROM memory by phase codes. With the development of the micro-electronics techniques, it is possible to substitute ROM by a real-time computer. This paper discusses how to get the rotation directions in the process of computing sine /cosine with CORDIC algorithm and how to apply CORDIC Algorithm in a DDS. It is a good reference to those who design DDS system by PLD.
