Catastrophe theory is a method toward the solve critical state in system science. It can explain how the gradual change of some variable quantity result in the abrupt change of the system. The primal problem in catastrophe theory is how we can find a mechanics function that describes the change of the system. We research the power change of the single soil nailing and the soil maintained by the soil nailing utilizing the principles of geotechnical plastics mechanics aim at the soil nailing support in excavating of foundation pit.We also deduce the power function of the soil and the friction between soil and soil nailing.
