Chaotic weak signals with strong back ground noise can be detected through changing of the movement state of the corresponding system disturbed periodically by known weak signals. The effects of time step of numerical computing and drive input white noise on movement features of a Duffing oscillator in weak signal detection, especially, their effects on its chaotic critical state and big scale periodic state, are studied. The results show that different time steps cause different movement states of the Duffing oscillator; Contrarily, any noise with zero mean value can not statistically change the original trajectory of the oscillator; drive input white noise with different powers may lead to the state change of the oscillator. The reasons causing those are analyzed at last.
