Research and Thought on S&T Novelty Searching

By means of qualitative analysis,the paper makes a quantitative study of time,type,source,author,author's organization,fund and topic of the essays on ST novelty.Problems of studies on ST novelty are as follows: separation of practical work with theoretical studies,similar topics,inadequate theory studies,weakness in study power,deficiency of cooperative interdisciplinary studies.In order to resolve the problems,administrative departments and novelty-searching institutions ought to attach importance to long-term planning and theoretical research,establish incentive research system,train and absorb the professional person,combine ST novelty searchers' novelty searching directions,cultivate research-based ST novelty searchers,increase research cooperation between institutions of novelty-searching and others and organize research teams with different academic backgrounds.
