3D Face Registration Based on Accurate Principal Axes Analysis and ICP

A new 3D face pre-registration method based on accurate principal axes analysis is proposed in this paper.As all faces appear frontal in their principal axes coordinate frame,so the pre-registration can be achieved by transforming both the standard model and the to-be-matched model to their principal axes coordinate frame.ICP is used as the fine registration method.Experiments prove that the proposed method is robust to pose variant and noise.
