Medical image ROI encoding based on JPEG2000

This paper introduces the principal and the flow of the new image compression standard JPEG2000,and makes a particular introduction to the ROI method of the standard JPEG2000part1—Maxshift method.We do the lossless and lossy compression and the ROI compression of rectangle region to the medical image,and the experimental result is satisfacted.
