Transmission of VBR video stream on the HFC network is discussed in this paper A cooperative transmission scheme is presented which works on a shared link Two admission control algorithms are then put forward,which are based on central limit theorem and histogram convolution respectively Through simulation,it′s found that the scheme outperforms the bufferless multiplex schems about 25% in the bandwidth utilization The admission algorithms are also verified with the simulation
