Analysis and Implementation of Column Mixture in Advanced Encryption Standard

In the field of data encryption, Data Encryption Standard (DES) can not meet the requirements of today's information security because of it's short Key length. DES is being replaced gradually by a new algorithm based on Rijndael. The scheme of Rijndael algorithm is introduced, its key step—Column Mixture is analysed. In addition, the basic rule and two specific methods of achieving Column Mixture in application are elaborated also. In conclusion, key points used to implement this algorithm in FPGA are described.
