Objective To explore the effect of standard path in nursing patients with severe preeclampsia. Methods Patients with severe preeclampsia were divided into observation group, in which standard nursing path was performed and control group, in which traditional nursing for preeclampsia was used. Patients' length of stay, medical cost, occurrence of complications, blood pressure and perinatal outcome in both groups were compared. Results There were shorter length of stay and less medical cost in observation group, in which blood pressure was controlled effectively when compared with that in control group. There was no case of eclampsia and one case of placental abruption and seven cases of kidney failure in observation group, the occurrence rate of which was lower than that in control group. Neonatal asphyxia rate and perinatal mortality were both lower in observation group which showed statistical significance(P 0.01). Conclusion The implementation of standard path in nursing patients with severe preeclampsia is effective for improving cooperation between medical staff and patients and improving medical staff 's efficiency.
