New targets for antiarrhythmic agents

It is a serius medical problem in controlling life threatening arrhythmias and up-to-date drug treatment in suppressing its occurrence is not successful.Most of life threatening cardiac arrhythmias occur in diseased hearts,much less attributed to genetic mutations.IKr current is tageted by traditional antiarrhythmic agents which are less active in controlling arrhythmias but with severe arrhythmogeneity by inducing TDP.The authors put forward and discuss new targets for antiarrhythymic agents.
