LEVEL HASH TABLE RESOURCE DISCOVERY MECHANISM IN GRID ENVIRONMENT
Liu Weidong, Jiaxing Song, Yue Wang · 2006
In the grid environment, resources are heterogeneous, dynamic, and widely distributed,so the resource discovery becomes a challenging task.A resource discovery mechanism called the Level Hash Table mechanism was developed using a tree-based network architecture to faciliate resource usage. In general, resources are hashed into keys with each hash table node storing keys that can be mapped to the registered resources.A simulator was built to model the mechanism with up to 700 nodes. The results show that the resource discovery process can finish in O(log_qp) hops and that the number of child nodes significantly influences the performance. The results also show that the level Hash table mechanism performs better than the traditional flooding mechanism.
