Fractal Image Compression Coding Based on the Trait of the Image

The mathematic base and the basic coding idea of the fractal image compression are introduced in this paper. A new method of image coding based on the trait of the image is designed. In this algorithm, we analyse the character of the original image and adequately consider the trait that humans visual sensitivity relates to the background. The mean gray level and difference of the image taken into account synthetically, then the image blocks are noted as common blocks and character blocks, we change the range of searching, the precision of matching and the parameter of affine transform, and consequently increase the efficiency of compression.
