The experimental comparison on grafting on germinated seeds and cutting of Camellia oleifera

Fang Wu-yun · China Forestry Science and Technology · 2011

In order to reduce the cost of Camellia oleifera propagation, the nursery of C.oleifera with grafting on germinated seeds was compared with cutting. The results showed that the survival rate of cutting was 30%~50% higher than grafting, and the plant quantity per hm2 was one time more than grafting. The growth of steckling was half to one year slower than grafting plant. The nursery cost of steckling was 15.75% lower and the income was 2.36 times higher than grafting.
