Algorithm of Mode Selection Based on the Macroblock Merger in H.264

H.264 adopted many advanced techniques to improve the compression efficiency,but codec operation complexity were multiplied.In order to reduce the coding algorithm,coding options were analyzed and selected,and then a mode decision of optimization algorithm was proposed.Algorithm was based on merger of motion vector,and motion estimation of a quarter pixel accuracy was used to lower the code rate.Average bit rate AR and average marginal difference ABE of macro block were used to prejudge whether to adopt inter-prediction in P frame coding.Simulation experiment result showed that motion estimation time and encoding time would be lowered about 35.19% and 48.98% respectively in average while PSNR and code rate were also reduced.
