Research on techniques of network planning in WLAN

In this paper, the authors introduce the relations of the three factors which must be firstly considered in the network planning in WLAN. The factors are the coverage of AP, the effective transmission rate, and the network capacity. The authors research into the method of optimizing the number and placement of APs. To construct a large scale WLAN network, the authors introduce several techniques to enlarge the network capacity, such as frequency reuse, smart antenna, and Mesh.
