An analysis of soft handover gain in WCDMA downlink

Because of some new asymmetric services,the downlink is more likely to be the bottleneck of the system capacity in the WCDMA wireless networks.This paper analyzes mostly that under the perfect power control path loss exponent and standard deviation of shadowing affect soft handover gain in downlink,which provides a basis for the wireless network planning in UMTS.
