Application of Adaptive Genetic Algorithms to Optimal Dispatching of Jinpen Reservoir

Based on the analysis of the characteristic situation of Jinpen Reservoir, a comprehensive optimal operation model is developed with consideration of its multi-objective and nonlinear features. The model is based on methods of dynamic programming, the simple genetic algorithm and the adaptive genetic algorithm. It is showed that the adaptive genetic algorithm, with the character of its parameter adjusted adaptively according to the dispersion degree of population and the fitness value of individuals, has the fastest convergence velocity and the best result, compared to other two algorithms.
