An Overview of Program Sliging

The definition of program slice was f irst presented by Weiser in 1979.From then,this techn ique has undergone a series of development.Program slicing has many applications in soft-ware maintenance,program debuggin g,testing,code understand-ing and reverse engineering.This paper gives an overview of program slicing and their applicati ons.Finally,this paper briefly introduces some factors which deserve more consideration when this technique is applied to object -oriented programs,and cor-responding resolution to these factors.
