Two-phase Optimization Planning Approach to Substation Locating and Sizing

This paper proposes a practical two-phase approach to substation optimization planning. First, the initial substation planning project is obtained without taking into account the geographical information; secondly, the surrounding geographical information is considered in detail, and the geographical fitness degree is obtained by using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), Then the global fitness degree of every project is evaluated when incorporating the economic fitness degree and finally the more rational optimization project is acquired. Some engineering applications indicate that the approach can better meet the practical planning requirements.
