An automatic tracing method of line with broken line′s image

A method about how to deal with the line with broken line′s image in transferring the scan map to vector map is presented. The direction of the line at the two breakpoints, the extent at which the background pixel is interfered, the distance between the two breakpoints are the main factors which decide whether two segment lines should be connected. The formula is q=λ1|cosθ|+λ2N+λ3D. A parameter E(0E≤1) is used to decide whether two segment lines should be connected. If qE, the two segment lines will be connected, or they will not be connected. In order to improve the trace efficiency, a new arithmetic active rectangle arithmetic is used, and the range of searching and computing is limited in the rectangle.
