A line segment elimination algorithm based on single-connectivity

In the analysis of images with diagram,the elimination of line segments is an important pre-processing content.In previous researches,Hough transform as well as other methods were used to perform line detection and elimination,but the inherent nature of images with diagram is not used so the line elimination of such images spends much time and space and makes little effect.To solve this problem,a line segment elimination algorithm based on single connectivity is proposed in this paper.Moreover,the realization of the algorithm and its performance are also discussed.Finally,some problems of the algorithm improvement are mentioned.
