Characteristics of low energy arc discharging instant

For an inductive intrinsically safe circuit, minimum arcing voltage shows the arcing characteristics and current reducing rate shows the inductive characteristics. Such two electrical variables are thoroughly analyzed with four mathematical models. Arc current reducing rate and arc voltage at the time of arc discharging are established for every mathematical model. It draws conclusion that current parabolic attenuation model is not suitable for depicting the arc discharge characteristics.
