Overview of wireless LAN authentication mechanism

To extract the knowledge of authentication mechanism,the current mainstream wireless LAN security solutions are presented,they are 802.11,VPN and 802.1X.The authentication technologies,open system authentication,WEP,CHAP,MS-CHAP,EAP-MD5,EAP-TLS,PEAP,LEAP and EAP-TTLS,are explained in detail,and the advantages and disadvantages of the authentication technologies are expounded.Finally,several suggestions on the authentication mechanism of wireless LAN security are proposed.
