Measurement of Noise Factor According to Its Definition

Noise is the main factor affecting the performance of high precision electronic equipment.To measure the noise factor of an amplifier or receiver expediently,a noise factor measurement method using spectrum analyzer is proposed based on the definitions and formulas given in the paper.The effect of noise on the electronic equipments performance and the definition of the noise factor are introduced in this paper.Via experiment validation,though the measurement method has some limitations,it still is a simple and effective method.
