USING REFERENCE STATION TECHNIQUE FOR COMPUTING MT TENSOR IMPEDANCE

P Zhang · Chinese Journal of Geophysics · 1985

The reference station technique proposed by Gouban et al. in 1978 completely removes the bias in computing tensor impedance. In the measuring example given by this report, the measuring station is fixed and the distance between measuring station and reference station is changed from 10 km until 40 km. The tensor impedance curves are compared for different reference distance. The results show that from 20 km to 40 km, the tensor impedance curves are nearly the same.
