VoWLAN (Voice over WLAN) is a method of sending voice information in digital form over a wireless broadband network.Essentially,VoWLAN is VoIP delivered through wireless technology.VoWLAN requires a voice-enabled wireless device, which looks and operates like a cell phone.Callers can also use a software-based phone, known as a softphone, that resides on devices including laptop and desktop computers. The VoWLAN system allows all regular functions and messaging applications available on wired phones to be available on the VoWLAN devices.Complete study and analysis of the admission control algorithms are presented in this paper.Based on that a new admission control algorithm CAC is proposed on the basis of the Time-window Measurement Mechanism and set two different thresholds for the different stream traffics. It adjusts the admission capability by changing the time- windows according to the traffic load.Numerical results show that proposed analytical models and the algorithm are availability for improving the QoS performance of VoWLAN.
