Key management provides secure and reliable communication for wireless sensor network(WSN).Public key cryptography(PKC) is usually considered not to be the same with WSN,in terms of specific requirements of WSN,constrained resources of nodes,and variety of network characteristics.Now,PKC is had application in WSN due to the existence of new hardware and software prototypes based on PKC primitives.In this paper,characteristics and security requirements of WSN are analyzed.Assessing criterion of key management is elaborated.PKC is briefed.As a conclusion,the development directions are pointed out based on the analysis and remark of PKC for WSN.
