Sensibility Analysis of Slopes Stability Based on Grey Correlation Analysis

Zhibo Chen · Journal of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Engineering · 2006

Grey Correlation Method is employed to analyze the sensitivities of factors influencing slope stability. The matrix of correlation data is set up,the elements of which are then transformed to dimensionless parameters using top-difference transforming method. The grey correlative factors and grey correlative degrees between the influencing factors and the safety factor are computed, and the sensible factors influence slope stability are then determined. This method has been applied in a slope reinforcement project in Fujian province. The influencing factors such as unit weight, cohesion, internal friction angle, groundwater level, slope height as well as slope angle are considered. The sensitivity of slope stability is analyzed with the above-mentioned factors being taken as independent and dependent respectively. The result shows that internal friction angle and cohesion are the principal susceptive factors influencing the slope stability,on the basis of which effective reinforcement measures are put forward.
