Blind detection of multilevel DSSS signal

Zhaoyang Zhang · Journal of Zhejiang University(Engineering Science) · 2004

A blind method was proposed to detect the presence of multilevel direct sequence spread spectrum(DSSS) signal under noisy background. It does not need to know any a priori transmitting parameters; and uses a long-time integral of the simple second-order moment of the received signal to detect any constant-envelope multi-phase-shift-keying(MPSK)-DSSS signal, while uses an additional fourth-order statistic to reduce the influence of signal envelope fluctuation before the normal second-order moment estimation for any non-constant-envelope multi-quadrature-amplitude-modulation(MQAM)-DSSS signal detection. Both the theoretical derivation and simulation results prove the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
