Application of united data compression technique in seismic prospecting

The general compression way is not satisfied with the mass seismic data.The authors used united compression technique of discrete cosine transformation in combination with discrete wavelet transformation to compress seismic data.The results show that the compression ratio could be improved with more of preservations the minute information of seismic signals.Using this way is better in performance of compression and computing,and efficient for various seismic data,but it is different in the compression ratio.
