Summary of Evaluation Algorithms of Radio Field Strength Coverage in the Railway Environment

Field coverage plays a key role in GSM-R cell planning and assessment.It is one of the most important indexes to measure the quality of cellular mobile communication services.To get the field coverage ratio accurately and to get possibly unified railway field coverage assessment criteria,combining with the application background and aiming at summarizing the sample mean estimate(SME) algorithm and its improved method based on the theory of statistical sampling methods,the paper points out that the parameters of proper lengths and numbers are the key parameters to reflect the effect of the algorithm.To sum up the algorithm field coverage assessment algorithms on the basis of filtering methods,an assessment method of moderate complexity is sought for under the premise of not undermining the original signal.Finally,assessment algorithms based on experimental measurement are summarized,hoping to get a unified coverage method.In the paper the characteristics of a variety of algorithms are compared and summarized,the feasibility and possible problems of these algorithms in the railway environment are analyzed and the prospects of these algorithms are looked forward to,so as to give necessary background for the wireless field coverage assessment studies.
