Overview of Spectral Band Replication in Audio Coding

Spectral Band Replication is a novel technology to improve the efficiency of source coding.SBR is also called bandwidth extension technique,through cutting down the bandwidth on the encoder side,and recreating the highband from the lowband on the decoder side,allowing for a high audio quality at a low bitrates.SBR is currently being standardized within MPEG-4 and has many applications nowadays.
