Cognitive Neural Mechanisms and Saliency Computational Model of Visual Selective Attention

Since saliency maps extraction algorithm has high computational complexity,low resolution and poor contrast,inspired by visual cognitive model of Stevens' s law and in the neural control circuit structure,w e propose a new visual computing model and algorithms based on mechanisms of selective attention cognitive neural is proposed in this paper. This model simulates both the bottomup and top-dow n human visual attention mechanism. The model is tested on image database of saliency object. Experiment has achieved satisfactory results in selective attention saliency extraction,running time and background noise restrain.
