On Corpus-driven Syntactic Analysis of Chinese Ba-construction

Based on formal observations over 10000 ba-constructions extracted from ad hoc corpus and standardized,this paper argues that (1) rules so far given semantically does not work properly; (2) priority should be given to formalized syntactic approaches; (3) support from corpus-driven approaches is critically needed so as to enhance factual relevance.
