Calculation of the lowest useable frequency for long distance HF communication

The lowest useable frequency for HF communication is an important parameter for the ascertainment of HF communication useableness spectrum.This frequency calculation has realistic meaning for the improvement of the HF frequency hopping and spread spectrumn communication efficiency.This paper states the conception and characteristic of HF communication,and introduces calculation methods for various losses in skywave transmission process.According to the skywave transmission loss formula,the lowest useable frequency for long distance HF communication is counted in theory.The calculation of the lowest useable frequency for HF communication contributes to the selection of HF communication spectrum.
