Based on the features of the service-oriented GIS technology,the architecture of ArcGIS Server was analyzed.And through ArcGIS Server and the associated development tools,the author discussed the implementation process of The Construction of Drinking Water Sources Protection Information System.Given the function framework and the system architecture,the functions of monitoring data automatic storage, related information inquiries, statistics,analysis from the geospatial map was implemented.The result proved its feasibility and effectiveness
