Enhancement of Quality-of-Service over Mobile Ad Hoc Based on Queue Management and Scheduling Strategy

Based on the differentiated service and multiple queues technique of EDCF (Enhanced Distributed Coordination Function) mechanism in 802.11e drafts, delay bound is proposed for setting up delay-sensitive traffic in this paper. The packet is scheduled according to its remain life time in the queue. The simulation results show that the scheme can reduce the end-to-end delay of voice traffic and improve the whole performance of Ad Hoc network. It is effective to inhibit the phenomenon of congestion that is caused by mobility and multiple hops.
