As a new generation of broadband access technologies, the gigabit passive optical network(GPON) has been hot in access network technology in recent years. In order to achieve a wide range of applications and play its advanced technological advantage ultimately,it is especially important to provide a stable and effective network man-agement for GPON.From the network management point of view, this paper proposed a design of GPON network management system based on an economic simple network management protocol(SNMP) and focused on analyzing a design and realization of OLT management information base(MIB),and developed agent program in virtual machine of Linux for realizing the management of GPON network system.
