Social tagging is one of the important applications of Web 2.0,providing a new platform for knowledge sharing.Tagging behaviour positively correlates with users' personal knowledge and corresponds with knowledge representation and sharing, which is a very complicated process.Based on three selected social tagging systems, this paper focuses on tags which result from social tagging and knowledge sharing behaviours and implements an empirical analysis concerning tag frequency distribution, tag type and tag characteristic,so as to find the statistical rules, thus reflecting the tagging behaviour of users, and promoting effective knowledge sharing in practice.
