Shadow-elimination Method for Vehicle Based on YUV Color Space and Texture

The shadow elimination in vehicle visual detection uses either the images' color features or the texture features,whichever is not able to achieve very desirable effects by itself.Thus this paper proposed the shadow elimination method making use of components Y,U,and V in the YUV color space and texture simultaneously,which firstly uses the luminance ratio between components Y,U and V and color invariance in color space,and then the image texture features.Finally the two detection results have been fused to achieve a better elimination effect.
