Evaluation on Lightning Strike Risks for Instruments on Site of Petrochemical Enterprises and Lightning Protection Measures

The instruments and data transmission equipment of petrochemical enterprises installed in field are frequently stricken and damaged by lightning during thunder rain season every year.Based on analysis of the damaging mechanism of lightning on the instruments and data transmission equipment,lightning strike risks evaluation was made on the on-site instruments according to relative domestic and international standard,and effective and economic lightning protection measures were proposed to ensure the damage to minimum.
