Application of geographic information system for urban water resources management

The structure and function of information system for urban water resources management were introduced.Based on the functions of GIS and the practice of water resources managment,the practicability and the superiority of combinative application are analysed,and then,the methodology and process of the collection,storage and analysis of information and redevelopment of system in water resources management based on ArcView were presented in this paper.The wide prospects of application in the water resources modelling and the assistant decision support were also discussed.
