Chemical design of brain-targeting drug

Many drugs are kept from entering the central nervous system(CNS) because of the blood-brain barrier(BBB). So making drug cross the BBB into the brain parenchyma becomes the key factor.Commonly used technological means include improving drug liposolubility,chemical delivery system(CDS) and carrier transport system.This paper reviews the chemical methods of improving BBB permeability from the perspective of drug design.
