Research on application of LDPC codes in 802.16a protocol

Low-density parity-check(LDPC) codes whose performance can approach Shannon limit have attracted much attention,particularly in the field of coding theory.Based on the excellent performance of LDPC codes,we find out a group of excellent irregular LDPC codes,apply them to OFDM system of IEEE 802.16a,and simulate the performance of LDPC codes.The simulation results show that LDPC codes have good ability of error correction and are suitable for wireless communication system such as WMAN that uses OFDM technology.
