Multi-core/many-core processor and its influences on computer architecture design

Multi-core/many-core technology has become an important direction of the development of today's processor technology. It has become the reality which computer system designers must face. From the perspective of architecture of computer system,some categories of multi-core processor such as homogeneous and heterogeneous,general and specific,are discussed,the structural features such as micro-structure and technology of typical multi-core processors are analyzed,and the challenges of architecture design taken by multi-core technology are also expounded.
